Fenrir
Well, we're not going to lie... Fenrir is no softy. He's a gigantic wolf (much bigger than you) with teeth so sharp they look like daggers... Anyway, the beautiful beast was raised in Asgard by the Aesir (gods who dwell in Asgard, so they're not losers).
By the way, Fenrir has the giantess Angrboda and Loki whose parents you've probably already heard of thanks to the Marvel movies. Loki ? He's the charismatic guy, but who's very... teasing you might say. Well, to tell you the truth he's called the God of Deception... at least we know what to expect. Anyway, back to our big wolf: Fenrir.
The deity Fenrir
With parents like that... it was certain Fenrir would join the dark side of the force. And it didn't fail ! At first, Fenrir was a very cute little cub (well, it's relative)... but with time, he became more and more aggressive towards the gods of Asgard. So much so that none of the Gods would go near him anymore...except Tyr - the guy is God of Heaven, just war, justice, victory and strategy (yes, just that) - to go and feed him. And that's where it gets fun...
Fenrir, a danger
As we've seen, the beast is pretty pissed off (perhaps even more so than your mother-in-law). So the Gods of Asgard thought it would be cool to tie him up... and yes not the jerks guys ! So they created a rope they named Loeding to tie our beautiful beast Fenrir... (don't do that with your mother-in-law eh). So I know what you're thinking... what's the idea of giving a name to a rope? Don't ask me, I'm as puzzled as you are. But hey, they're Asgard Gods guys after all...
Bref, the Loeding rope doesn't last long. Fenrir breaks free of it in no time and without effort. So the Gods decide to create a second rope... A rope twice as strong according to them... And of course, they give it a little name: Dromi. (if we had to name all the ropes in the world... we wouldn't be out of the woods). But hey... there again, Fenrir the gigantic wolf broke the rope and easily freed himself from its grip.
Seeing this, the Gods of Asgard figured that, after all, they weren't very good at building ropes and tying them to a rabid wolf who was dying to kill them. So they called in...
To the dark elves
So the Gods of Asgard send them a message in the name of Skirnir (always simple names, that's nice). The messenger is to ask the elves to build a rope that NO ONE could break... yep! That's all. The Elves comply... and they will make a rope named Gleipnir (nop, don't try to pronounce).
But wait, in my opinion the most incredible thing is not the strength of this rope... But its recipe ! This is not a nec plus ultra stainless steel strand rope...no, far from it. I'll tell you the 6 ingredients that make it... but I'm afraid you won't believe me. Just know that this is not a joke I'm playing on you... anyway, I'm revealing these 6 ingredients:
I'm going to give you these 6 ingredients:
Yep, I told you so. Apparently dark elves aren't very good at recipes. But hey, the important thing is the result, right ? Is the rope strong enough to contain the rage of the gigantic beast Fenrir ? And the answer is yes. The rope holds Fenrir... until Ragnarök (that's the apocalypse for the Vikings) when he breaks free, swallows the sun and kills Odin. Yep, that big wolf is pretty damn badass. Okay, so maybe you're asking yourself this question:
Why didn't the gods kill Fenrir ?
It's true in the end... why didn't they just kill the beast ? It would have saved everyone a lot of time and we'd be rid of it for good... Especially when we know that, in the end, it's going to break free during Ragnarök and make a mess of Asgard and the other worlds. And the answer of the Gods to this question is: "We did not mean to stain Asgard with the blood of this beast
Yeah, blood stains and it's a pain in the ass to clean up...you have to understand them too!! There you go. This is the story of Fenrir, a majestic wolf, strong, powerful, badass and feared by all. So now, I'd like to tell you about 3 Fenrir-related jewels that you can find with us.
Presentation of 3 Fenrir jewels
I think you'll get the idea... Fenrir is not the cute thing that crashes into his opponents. It's truly the beast that stands up and fears no one (not even the Gods of Asgard, that's to say)... and it's this mindset that we want to convey in the bracelets I'm about to introduce.
Viking Bracelet - Fenrir's Head - Stainless Steel
When we see that you're wearing that bracelet with two Fenrir heads... We'll take you seriously. We know you're not a clown to be trifled with. Plus, the bracelet is made of stainless steel. So I know you're not a blacksmith, so what does stainless steel mean? xtagstartzIt means it's fucking solid.
